Six decades of commitment to nature and naturist values
Established in 1966, Camping Baldarin has grown over six decades into one of the most recognisable naturist destinations on the Croatian Adriatic. Located at the southern tip of the island of Cres, surrounded by the untouched nature of Punta Križa, the campsite has remained true to its core values from the very beginning – freedom, mutual respect, and a lifestyle in harmony with nature.
Surrounded by centuries-old pine trees, a beautiful coastline, and crystal-clear sea, Baldarin offers its guests much more than a traditional camping holiday. For many, it has become a place they return to year after year – a place of encounters, shared moments, and experiences that remain part of their memories.
Over the decades, the campsite has successfully adapted to changes in tourism and the expectations of modern travellers while preserving its unique identity. The combination of tradition and continuous development has allowed Baldarin to remain one of the rare places in the Mediterranean that continues to nurture the original concept of naturist holidays, with a strong focus on environmental protection, sustainability, and responsible use of natural resources.
A day filled with socialising, sports and entertainment
The anniversary celebration at Baldarin was marked by socialising, sports, and entertainment for guests of all generations. Throughout the day, visitors took part in a diverse programme of activities, including long-time guests, families who have been returning to the campsite for years, first-time visitors, and employees who contribute to its development every day.
Table tennis, beach volleyball, a SUP paddleboarding race, the traditional Wheelbarrow Alka, tug of war, and a lively pub quiz filled the campsite with laughter and a friendly competitive spirit. The youngest guests enjoyed creative workshops, games, and face painting with the animation team, while families and friends spent the day enjoying time together.
As the sun slowly set over Punta Križa, the celebration continued with live music, traditional performances by the Manfrina Folklore Group, and an evening programme that perfectly reflected the spirit of Baldarin – simple, authentic, and deeply connected to local heritage.
A special moment for all generations of Baldarin
One of the most memorable moments of the evening was the closing ceremony, during which medals and certificates were presented to participants. Recognition was given to former directors and long-standing employees, whose dedication and work helped shape Baldarin into what it is today. The awards were presented by the Executive Director of Camps, Mr. Dejan Jakovljević.
Following the award ceremony, guests enjoyed another special moment – the ceremonial breaking of a six-tier Lošinj krokant, a traditional local delicacy. The celebration included the participation of Jadranka Turizam d.o.o. CEO, Mr. Nikola Perenčević, and the Mayor of the City of Mali Lošinj, Ms. Ana Kučić.
The 60th anniversary celebration was much more than a business milestone. It was a tribute to all employees who have built Baldarin through their dedication and hospitality, to guests who continue to return year after year, and to partners and the local community who have supported its development.
A story created by people
Over the past few months, we have had the opportunity to share numerous stories from our guests and employees – stories of returning year after year, unforgettable summers, friendships, and special moments created right here at Baldarin. Each of these stories represents a valuable part of the campsite’s history and a reminder of why this place has attracted visitors for six decades.
Camping Baldarin and its employees have also played an important role in the development of Punta Križa, creating a unique connection in which the campsite and the local community have grown together over the years.
Families who have been returning to Baldarin for several generations, employees who have dedicated their working lives to the campsite, and countless guests who have created special moments here are all an important part of its rich history.
Looking towards the future
The 60th anniversary celebration was an opportunity to look back on the past while also looking ahead to the future. Although many things have changed over the years, some values have remained the same – the connection with nature, respect for the environment, and the unique holiday experience guests discover in this special corner of the island of Cres.
On this occasion, we would like to thank everyone who has been part of the Baldarin story over the past sixty years – our guests, employees, local community, and partners. Your trust, loyalty, and support have helped shape the campsite into what it is today.
