For the first time, this traditional gathering of Austrian campers is being held in Croatia, and for the occasion they chose the islands of Cres and Lošinj.
At the request of the club members, the meeting was extended to five days and the program will be less formal and simplified compared to previous meetings.
The event begins with the opening ceremony and an evening of fine dining and entertainment. Many activities are organized during this four-day event including excursions to the nearby island of Susak and guided tours of Veli and Mali Lošinj.
The gathering ends with a gala dinner with authentic entertainment program such as indigenous folk dance of the island of Susak and village Nerezine, and live music. After the meeting, the members of the camping club may choose to stay in the campsite or return to their homes.
The Austrian Camping Club (ÖCC) was established in 1951 and has 12,000 members making it the largest camping club in Austria. The club deals with all matters relating to camping and publishes a journal entitled Camping Revue. It aims at supporting the development of camping in Austria and encouraging new people to enjoy a camping vacation. All members have a membership card and are insured. Throughout the year they are involved in various activities, such as meetings in various campsites across Europe.
