For the fifth consecutive year the Čikat campsite was voted the best campsite by Slovenian tourists, while the Croatian Camping Union and the Croatian Automobile Club included the campsites Čikat and Slatina among the best 50 campsites in Croatia. In addition, the Baldarin campsite was awarded by the prominent German camping association "ECO CAMPING".
An especially valuable prize is the one awarded to the naturist campsite Baldarin by the German association "ECO CAMPING". The award is based on the fulfilment of demanding environmental criteria that contribute to environmental protection and a previously conducted tour of the campsite. The Baldarin campsite became a candidate for the prestigious "ECO CAMPING" award due to the construction of the wastewater treatment system and the discharge of 99 percent of clean water into the sea. Also, in a one year period, the Baldarin campsite has successfully fulfilled the demanding criteria such as the reduction of the volume and separation of the organic waste, the prescribed percentage of the savings of electricity and water, which enabled its membership in this prestigious association of campsites.
“We have rounded off this extremely successful season with numerous awards, which is yet another confirmation of the quality of our offer and the satisfaction of our guests. We are particularly proud on the Baldarin campsite which was awarded by the prestigious German association ‘ECO CAMPING’, thus fulfilling the truly demanding environmental criteria and standards of this association. Really interesting and, above all, challenging season and year is behind us. We have opened an aqua park in the Čikat campsite, the first of this kind on the islands, and then upgraded the campsite to four stars”, said Đulio Delise, the CEO of the company Jadranka kampovi.
As you already know, the company Jadranka kampovi operates the campsites Čikat, Baldarin, Bijar and Slatina on the islands of Lošinj and Cres. The development of camping tourism is one of the important components of the Croatian Tourism Development Strategy until 2020 and Jadranka kampovi, with more than 20,000 overnight stays, which is a 4 percent increase, has engaged in the promotion of Croatia and Cres and Lošinj as the top camping destinations.
Numerous awards and an increase in the number of overnight stays are a result of the systematic investment of the Jadranka Group in the upgrade of the Čikat campsite to four stars, construction of the first amusement aqua park on the islands and investment in environmental protection of the hotels and campsites of the Jadranka Group.
